Contrary to this quote, it isn’t healthy to reach goal weight by getting the flu. At The Fat Loss Coach we create a healthier you. We design a personalized plan to help you decrease body fat without losing lean mass. We also want you to stay healthy through cold and flu season.
Here are six tips to staying healthy during cold and flu season:
1. Garlic is your friend: Fresh garlic can ward off vampires and the common cold. Crushing fresh garlic releases the immune boosting juice. If you’re a smoothie fan, just add garlic!
2. Ginger root is known for its anti-inflammatory properties. As a result it is used to aid allergies, cold, irritable bowel, nausea, poor circulation, menstrual cramps and a host of other ailments. Fresh or pill form are effective; be sure the pill is high quality ROOT.
3. Zzzzzzz: Treat your body right by getting enough rest. Oftentimes our bodies tell us when we are getting sick and a good night of sleep will ward off a full blown cold. Don’t ignore what your body is telling you.
4. Be active: An active body has a boosted immune system. If you do get sick be sure to take time to rest before returning to a regular workout.
5. Water: Staying hydrated is an important part of fat loss, weight loss, staying healthy and flushing out a cold or flu. Herbal teas are a great way to stay hydrated and soothe a sore throat or stomach.
6. Eat your fruits & veggies: Don’t forget the immune boosting power of super foods like blueberries and carrots. They are essential to a healthy lifestyle and will help you recover from illness.
